I agree with Trevor! The boat sponsor of any team, whoever the sponsor may be, will be more willing to cut a better deal for a bigger team! He had a good point. "More members, More incentive" Surely not a free boat, but more members give a club way more bargaining chips.
As far as driving the boat goes: you just need to handle it like Leo and I have. We have made sure that we are ready for the person to drive, and more importantly that they are ready. It is all a judgment call, but you must slowly let people get behind the wheel to figure it out!
Bring it on!

I'm sure you guys have it figured out. As long as there are guidelines I think its a great deal to have another boat.

My friend bryan has connections with his dads friend who builds yacts and fishing boats and he was talking how the guy could probably build an inboard v drive wake boat free of charge i will have more info soon on that within a couple weeks also i found wake boats with little accessories as possible which are cheap, very cheap, called standard boats standardboats.com/default.aspx

jb that would be amazing.
A new club boat is still a hot topic. With the skill our tournament riders possess it is hard for them to further their riding ability on our boat.
Im going to schedule a meeting with the rec sports not only to get our 4 thousand a year sponsorship that we have earned but to also give a well thought presentation on a possible loan from the school.
As it stands I have talked with mastercraft and tige and the best they will do is the "Demo" price at 40 thousand. We could easily make loan payments even with out the 4 thousand a year from the rec.
I have also talked with a couple other clubs. I guess the polo club and the sailing club has gotten huge grants, but from what I have heard the school really gets into your business when they have that kind of invested interest. I have also heard that rec sports only want to sponsor competitive teams.
So we really have close to 4 options 1. save money and try to buy a 12 thousand dollar boat. 2. find a co signer for a loan 3. Get a loan from the Rec 4. some one donates a boat outright or gives a ton of money. 5. win nationals hahaha and possibly get a free boat for the year (talked about it with the new collegiate circuit)
The President of Empire Wake Will be down in college station around the 6th of November to chill with the team and write a article for alliance wake. Right now I have offered my room for him to stay but if any one has a back up plan / extra rooms that would be more comfortable that would be great.

possibly grand theft auto? ha kidding um you could just buy a larger engine with the rec center donations and have everyone chip in for a zero off perfect pass
bigger engine = heavier bigger engine = more power to pull more fat sacs bigger engine = way cheaper than a new boat bigger engine = fat wake
also you could get a different pitched prop to save gas money
and if a new boat never works out just go for the sesitec system 2.0 cable system, its supposedly as cheap or cheaper than a jet ski also it only burns 5 dollars of electric if you run it all day

Besides the perfect pass our boat is upgraded to full capacity.
we have plenty of towing and almost sink the boat from all the weight every time we take it out.

im new to the club but i know boats and i agree that not every one should be able to take a boat out on the lake, first off insurance would not cover that many people, and for a new boat axis the new boat from the malibu factory would prob be the best boat, and there is a good chance that we could get one at cost, the boat is marketed to the younger riders who dont have the money to afford new boats. i know that they are looking for people and teams to sponsor. www.axiswake.com/

i was deffinately gonna say something about how the ski team got their boat, and i think thats retarded that they can get a nice nautique and we cant... skiing is retarded first of all and second no one comes out to a ski contest just to watch, so its not like they are even promoting nautiques

The ski teams nautique really isnt that great of a boat. Its only worth about 12 thousand our boat stock is about 7 then close to ten after every thing we have done to it. IMO wakeboarding requires a nicer boat to really get to the top of the sport unlike skiing.
The ski team had some one donate a whole boat to the club.
