Waketoberfest 2009 - Day 1
This years event should be one of the best to date. The officials at Pace Bend have moved our location at the park to a private area that's usually closed to the general public. This should make it a more intimate setting like the original fests held at Emma Long on Lake Austin. Also, this location on the water has much more coverage from the wind so the water conditions should be money for the contest on Saturday morning.
Park map is located here

The event will be held at the top of the map at Kate's cove & Johnson cove. The park rangers have asked that anybody that plans on camping in an RV or travel trailer to please rent a generator and camp in the event area instead of the Improved Camping area. They will be much more lenient to our event attendees (noise levels, etc...) if we all stay in our spot. Doing this will also help the event be a lot more fun by keeping us all together. Also, because we will have a beer sponsor this year anybody driving out of our gated area will be under the microscope. Usually generators have to be shut off at 10pm but anyone with a generator in our area can run them as late as you want. There is plenty of room for rv's and tents in our area.
If you are camping in an RV or Travel Trailer PLEASE rent a generator and camp in the event area!!! If you are with the event and camp in the improved camping area it's probable that you will be hassled.
The camping area is beautiful and covered with picnic tables, bbq pits, fire pit rings and large oak trees. It's just a small walk down the hill to the sandy beach at the water where the contest portion of the event will be held.
We are very happy to welcome Pyramid Brewery as our title sponsor this year. They will be providing plenty of cold beverages for everyone 21 and up on Saturday. We will have souvenir cups for sale for $5 that will allow you to visit the beer garden as much as you want until it's gone.
I will have more info as I get it. Stay tuned and be ready for an awesome weekend October 23-25!!!
